Childhood anime
May. 13th, 2008 10:05 pmI finally discovered this cartoon I saw as a lad based on a VERY vague description of the ending: Unico in the Island of Magic, and that's when I realized it was an anime.
So Jen and I dug around Wikipedia, and were quite surprised to find out how much anime comprised our childhood TV viewing. For example, of the 19 shows listed as "1980s Nickelodeon Cartoons", 6 of them were originally Japanese cartoons (and a good handful of the rest were originally from other countries as well).
Just something to throw out there. I mean, I'm sure a lot of us remember Voltron, Speed Racer, and Robotech, but Noozles? Maple Town? Little Koala? Oh yeah, we became weeaboos far quicker than we'd thought XD
