So it seems MDR (Mass. Department of Revenue) didn't like that I claimed Jen as a dependent in 2004 (before we were married), and has decided to charge me the $53 I owe along with interest (even though they never bothered to get in touch with me until now...hmmm).
Looking through the website, it says I can't claim a non-relative as a dependent, which is odd because I could have SWORN that was the case in 2004. Feh.
Still need to call MDR to make sure that's the case, but it's quite a bummer none the less :/
