DEATH

Reformatting my laptop's HD didn't do anything, so I'm guessing that it's an issue with the fan controller, wherein if the computer cannot detect that the fans are on (and in this case, they don't start for some reason), it won't boot up (as suggested by cutriss). I don't know what to do about it, but from my cursory, inexperience inspection, it doesn't look like anything I can fix without having to purchase an new mobo. Looks like I'm left paying for an expensive paperweight. Oh well :/
